Traveling with Children

Twice this year I went on vacations with my children. I thought because my children were older that it would be easier. Let me tell you something. It was not easy at all. They made my nerves ache in the most extreme way. I had thought of "Traveling with my children will be a breeze. They are older, know right from wrong. On top of that, they are no longer babies that I have to monitor 24/7." Well, let me tell you, that was not the case. They ran all over the beaches, museums, restaurants, parking lots, everywhere. My children were just this ball of energy. They were so excited about going to a new city. Seeing different places other than the city they lived in. The main reason why I was stressed was that I didn't want them to do something that would cause damage or cause people that don't know them to get frustrated. I guess you can say that I was in protection mode. Once I calmed down and let them enjoy our vacation everything was wonderful.

My kids had a great time. The family that was on the trip with us had a great time. Planning the days' activities. Making sure that our family accomplishes everything that is on the list. Adjusting to unexpected circumstances that delay events. then I looked at their faces and realize that they are having a good time. The trip was a stress reliever for them as well as me. This was an eye-opener for me. That taking trips with children is a blessing. I was able to explore and learn new things with them. Explore the world with them. Now I want to travel with them as many times as possible. To get them to understand that this world is a huge world and God wants us to explore it.

So, when you think about travel and you wonder if traveling with children is worth it. Believe me, it is worth it. I will do it over and over again because their happiness gives me happiness. Reach Me To Explore encourages people to travel with kids and loved ones. It makes the experience worthwhile.
